Buckinghamshire Culture is the cultural development partnership for the county, responsible for driving forward the Buckinghamshire Cultural Strategy. Providing a voice for the sector, we champion and build the role of culture in Buckinghamshire, building leadership, advocacy and momentum. With cross-sector engagement, we aim to embed creativity and culture in all areas of our residents’ lives.
To do this we work with, and on behalf of, the creative and cultural sector of Buckinghamshire, who form our network. We have two Co-Chairs, an Executive Team of delivery roles (including one staff member) and a Board. We will become a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) in 2021. Our wider network includes artists, creatives, cultural professionals, organisations, local authority departments and educational institutions. We work closely with Buckinghamshire Council and the community boards. As opportunities for joint projects or funding bids arise, and in order to activate the change we want to see, we bring together Action Groups to develop projects, initiatives and applications. As we develop, we intend to build partnerships beyond the boundaries of the county – engaging in regional, national and international networks and programmes.
