From photographs of spinal injuries patients at Stoke Mandeville Hospital in the 1940s, to costumes from the opening ceremony of London 2012 Games, our archives and collections will reveal to you the fascinating stories of our Nation’s Paralympic Heritage.
The National Paralympic Heritage Trust has service agreements with Buckinghamshire Archives and Discover Bucks Museum to catalogue and care for our collections using nationally recognised standards. This important work has received support from the Wellcome Trust, National Archives, William Harding Trust and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
We have a very large backlog of collections to catalogue and are slowly moving forward with a great team of volunteers. What is available to view online is therefore currently limited and will be available when Discover Bucks Museum’s new database has been built in a couple of months, but we are happy to help with you enquiries and can provide further information offline as we progress with accessioning material.
