Hands-on science is back at the museum with another brilliant exhibition from Science Projects Ltd. This time exhibits explore the science of optics – the way we see things and how light behaves. Have fun experimenting with lenses, mirrors, reflections, lightning and luminosity.
Discover eye-boggling and brain-baffling exhibits! Investigate optical illusions and find out how images merge into moving pictures and how your brain influences what you see.
The Light Fantastic science exhibits will be in the exhibition space where you will also find displayed the wonderful entries and competition winners in our Bucks Photography Exhibition.

Thursday 17 April – The Sand Dragon: Puppet Show & Puppet Making Workshop
While on holiday Edie and her Daddy find a magical pebble on the beach that can grant you one wish. Can you guess what Edie wished for? Join Theatrix Arts to experience this magical story- be ready for songs, a host of puppets and even a magic trick or two! After the show, you’ll have the chance to meet the puppets and create your very own Sand Dragon Puppet.

Saturday 19 April – Meet the Author: Mark Grist – part of our Aylesbury Children’s Book Festival
Step into the whimsical world of words with Mark Grist, an award-winning poet, rapper, and children’s author, as he hosts enchanting family-friendly sessions that blend the magic of rhymes and the charm of children’s books.
Morning Session: “Rhymes and Reads: A Family Adventure with Mark Grist” (10.30am – 11.30am)

ROALD DAHL CHILDREN’S GALLERY
Come and discover the famous Roald Dahl Children’s Gallery, a space bursting with interactive displays and engaging activities inspired by Roald Dahl’s wonderful stories that encourage learning through play. Children can step inside the Giant Peach, explore sound with the BFG and crawl through Fantastic Mr Fox’s tunnel. They can appear in their own drawings on TV and even freeze their own shadows! Come along and explore for yourselves.
